St Faith's Church has a long history of service and support to the residents of Ringlestone and Springfield, in Maidstone. The previous church hall on the corner of Chatham Road and Moncktons Lane was a much-loved and much-used community facility. It was built in 1935 but sadly, it was showing its age, not readily accessible, and no longer fit for purpose.

In May 2020 planning permission was granted to replace the hall and next-door vicarage with a brand new church and community centre, to be known as St Faith's Centre - right in the heart of Ringlestone and Springfield.

St Faith's Centre

With a brand new and enlarged community centre we will continue the legacy of the local people who gave the land and founded the previous hall. The new centre will increase the capacity for playgroups, children’s activities such as: music, dance and drama; exercise classes, support groups, quizzes, variety shows and church services and activities.  The new building will provide much-needed space for all the local community to enjoy and a vibrant place for the church community to worship.

Christian Booklet

At the very heart of St Faith’s Church is the desire to love God and to love our neighbours.

Ringlestone and Springfield are in the parish of St Faith’s, Maidstone, in the Diocese of Canterbury.

Sitting in a cafe

The new centre will comprise of a light and airy main entrance and cafe, connecting to the main hall, small hall and garden.

Upstairs will have five multipurpose resource and meeting rooms with lift access and small kitchen.

Youth Conference

The community centre is church and volunteer led, with a friendly team on hand to help.

We also have a number of partners that we work with and support.

"It’s wonderful to see this exciting building opened at last! Since its dedication in July 2023 we have welcomed the local community to come along, use and enjoy the Centre and everything that it has to offer.  'The Welcome Cafe', open from 9.30am to 1.30pm Monday-Friday, is proving popular, with a local supplier making home-made cakes. We have now expanded to Saturdays 10-12. The daycare nursery is up and running and the various rooms are being regularly booked for a whole range of activities, with new enquiries coming in all the time. The church is meeting at the Centre every Sunday with a monthly Communion service and lunch and at other times in the week too. The garden has been planted up with trees and roses so by summer 2024 will be blooming. It's all very encouraging – come and be part of it."

Rev. Canon Arthur Houston - Trustee of RCCDG

"Not many churches get the opportunity to build a new church and community centre, so it’s very exciting to see St Faith’s Centre being completed.  We have put a lot of thought and effort into getting the design right, but even the best designed buildings need to be brought alive by people.  Our desire is that St Faith’s Centre will be authentic and generous in its welcome and help everyone on their individual spiritual journey.  As a church, we hope to be offering lots of different types of service, such as: Messy Church, Breakfast Service, All Age Worship, Prayer and Homegroups, Faith Discovery courses, Tea Time service for the seniors, plus other events.  We are looking forward to seeing you."
